Command-t

I can’t remember what it was I wanted to look up online.  But I wanted to look up something, so I instinctively roused my MacBook and hit command-t.  Because I wanted a new tab in Firefox.  Of course.

What I got instead was this.

cmd t

Who knew the keyboard shortcut for “New Tab” in Firefox was the same as the shortcut for “Show Visualizer” in iTunes?

I’m sure I’m just about the last person on Earth to discover iTunes’ new (?) visualization graphics, because when I listen to music I’m usually doing other things and don’t have time to watch pretty pulsing lights and colors.  But discover them I have.  And they sure are pretty.

cmd t 2

The most magical part of it, however, was looking at my computer screen expecting a blank white browser window– and finding something quite different.  Life needs more moments like that.

You actually found it before I did… but I did know that T was the command for both. I opened the visualizer to provide more entertainment to someone to whom I was showing a song, and I also got the pleasant surprise of firecracker-stars and translucent, glittering orb. ^_^

I had to download it as soon as I read this.
If you ever get the chance to download random music, the Danish band Mew has some fantastically weird songs that fit perfectly with the new visualizer.

You might want to check out the Manifesto visualizer as well. It is a free download and very reactive to music.

    I’ll look into it, thanks!
