Exams ‘06, day one

The Global final was expectedly easier than expected, if you get my drift. My essays were terribly messy and disorganized, but I think I did fine on the multiple choice questions. And at least I didn’t run out of time.

Then I learned an interesting piece of information: buses don’t come when you think they will, and they don’t wait.

So I missed decided not to take the 12:10 bus, forgetting to accommodate for the fact that they kick kids off campus during exam hours. Because I may have hacked into the vault of math tests, got all the answers, wrote them in HUGE LETTERS on big posters and held them up in the middle of the quad so people in the windowless gym could look outside and see them. And I wouldn’t have gotten caught while doing this, of course. So naturally, I could under no circumstances be permitted to stay on campus.

Luckily, the weather was gorgeous (or perhaps unluckily; the first nice day we get in a while turns out to also be the first day of exams), so I walked to Stewart Park to laze around on the grass and scribble words in my notebook. A highly enjoyable, quintessentially summer-esque use of my time.

Then I had to walk back to school to catch the 2:37 bus home, which had fewer than 802 (and a half) people for the first time all year. Having a seat of my own = bliss.

When I arrived home, I threw my Global review packet triumphantly on the floor and jumped gleefully upon it. Goodbye, shahadah (which, I finally figured out early this morning, is the “faith” Pillar of Islam), encomienda, feudal Japan, the Geneva Accords, and good ol’ Mansa Musa. Done, done, done!

Now I will go practice piano. Hooray for chromatic thirds scales and Mozart arias.
